歴史に残る100冊

私、読書がとても好きです。小学生の時には、小学校の図書カード使用枚数記録を更新したほどです。友人のお母さんには「二宮金次郎」と呼ばれたほどでした。

ま、それはともかく、確かに多くの本を読んでいるのですが、如何に偏った読み方だったかを思い知らされました。

Norwegian Book Clubsというところが発表した、歴史に残る100冊という記事を英Guardian紙で発見しました。そのリストを見て、驚愕しました。ほとんど読んだことのない本ばかり…。

読んだことのあるのは、ジョージ・オーウェルの「1984 @AMAZON」、ヘミングウェイの「老人と海 @AMAZON」、シェークスピアの「ハムレット @AMAZON」、「リア王 @AMAZON」、「オセロー @AMAZON」…。エドガー・アラン・ポーは確か全て読んだかな…。

「ドンキホーテ」が最高の本という形で紹介された以外はランキングは発表されなかったようです。

日本では紫式部の「源氏物語」がエントリーされています。これからはもう少し色々な本を読むべきでしょうねぇ。
